TAFT in English
Vantaan TAFT, established in 1981, is one of the oldest American Football clubs in Finland. Today TAFT offers football experiences starting from Under-11 juniors all the way to Men's first team playing in the Division III - aiming to the highest level of football in Finland, the Maple League.
TAFT's flagship, their Men's team, ended the season 2011 by winning the 1st division, capped by the Spaghetti Bowl championship, and thereby being eligible for a Maple League license. The license was issued to TAFT in January 2012 and Maple League football returned to Vantaa after a 14 years break. The 2011 season was the 3rd championship year in a row for TAFT as they held an impressive winning record over the last 3 years of 28-2.
TAFT played in the Maple League between 2012 and 2016. Season 2017 started a new era for the team in Division II, with continuation in Division III on season 2018. Building the team is going on strong, and preparing for their upcoming season 2019 again in Division II will continue as planned with the highly experienced and appreciated group of coaches.
Our junior teams are growing and improving. TAFT has one of the largest junior organizations in Finland. To be able to meet the growing demand among young players we offer junior teams to youth from 8- to 20-year-olds. Many of our juniors have played in the program for many years and some play for our Men's team, thanks to the high level coaching. New players are always welcome!
In TAFT we aim to offer quality experiences for all our players and fans. We want to provide the best possible surroundings and firm support from the TAFT organization. TAFT is a tight family where everyone can feel at home.
There has been football in Vantaa for almost 40 years now. It's been a long and colorful ride with hundreds and hundreds of players who proudly have worn blue and white. The brightest moments in TAFT history was the Eurobowl championship in 1985 and the Maple League championship in 1986. TAFT has always been very successful in junior leagues, and numerous championships and medals have been given to TAFT Juniors over the years.
In 2019 TAFT aims to settle its place among the top teams in the Division II, and further work the team's way up to Maple League again in the near future. We welcome everyone to the Tikkurila Sports Park to cheer TAFT to victories! Go TAFT!
